WEATHERIZATION PROGRAM
OUR GOAL IS TO REDUCE HEATING COSTS FOR LOW-INCOME FAMILIES BY
IMPROVING THE ENERGY EFFICIENCY OF THEIR HOMES AND ENSURING THEIR HEALTH AND SAFETY.
Weatherization services in Beaver County are provided by the Housing
Authority of the County of Beaver to both homeowners and renters.
Program measures include but are not limited to the following:
1. Caulking
2. Weather-stripping
3. Insulate and Ventilate attic area
4. Replacement of broken glass
5. Insulating the hot water tank
6. Wrapping water pipes in unheated areas
7. Retrofit the furnace
DETERMINATION OF INCOME
Client eligibility can be determined in one of three (3) ways:
established eligibility of automatic eligibility. A dwelling shall be eligible
providing it is occupied by a family that meets at least one of the following:
a.
family income is at or below 200% of the federal poverty guidelines; or
b. family
contains a member who has received cash assistance payments under Title IV (Aid to
Families with Dependent Children) or XVI Supplemental Security Income); or
c. families certified eligible for energy assistance
